Zinfandel

Seghesio Family Vineyards, Old Vine 2018, Sonoma County, CA. With a bouquet of cedar, spice, and sun-ripened blackberries, our Sonoma Zinfandel makes a strong first impression. Bold and richly textured on the palate with an intensity and purity of fruit reflected in notes of wild blueberries, plum, and black currants. A light dusting of tannins provides structure and a long finish that is boueyed by fresh juicy acidity.

Discover Brickside Grille

The first time I walked into Brickside Grille, it felt like the kind of neighborhood place you instantly trust. Tucked into 540 Wellington Square, Exton, PA 19341, United States, the dining room hums with casual conversation, TVs quietly rolling through games, and a bar that looks ready for both a quick pint or a long catch-up with friends. I stopped in after a late workday, and within minutes the staff had me settled, explaining menu favorites without the rehearsed sales pitch you sometimes get. That ease sets the tone for the whole experience.

The menu leans confidently into American comfort food, but with enough polish to keep things interesting. On one visit, I ordered what the server called house-ground burgers, cooked medium, and they arrived juicy with a clean beef flavor that didn’t need heavy toppings to shine. Another night, a friend swore by the crispy chicken tenders, pointing out how the breading stayed light rather than greasy. That consistency matters. According to National Restaurant Association data, more than 70% of diners say food quality is the single biggest reason they return to a restaurant, and Brickside Grille clearly understands that expectation.

There’s also a thoughtful rhythm to how the kitchen operates. Watching from the bar, you can see tickets moving steadily, plates checked before they leave the pass, and servers communicating clearly. That kind of process is often invisible, but it shows in timing. Meals come out hot, and even during peak hours, wait times stay reasonable. Food safety and handling are taken seriously as well. The CDC notes that proper temperature control and clean prep surfaces significantly reduce foodborne risks, and the open, orderly kitchen layout here reflects those standards in real life.

Reviews from locals echo similar experiences. Many regulars mention dependable wings, rotating draft beers, and a menu that works just as well for families as it does for a casual date. One recent online review described the spot as a reliable go-to after work, which lines up with what I’ve seen on multiple visits. Not every dish is meant to be adventurous, and that’s an honest limitation. If you’re hunting for experimental cuisine, this isn’t that place. What it offers instead is balance and reliability, something many diners value more.

The bar program deserves its own moment. Draft selections rotate with regional beers, and the bartenders actually know the profiles well enough to make recommendations based on taste, not trends. During one visit, a bartender explained the difference between two local IPAs in plain language, breaking down bitterness and malt without jargon. That ability to explain complex flavors simply reflects real expertise, not just training.

Location plays a role in its appeal too. Being right in Wellington Square makes it easy to access, with ample parking and nearby shops. It’s the kind of place where you’ll see the same faces returning, which builds trust over time. In an industry where consistency is hard to maintain, Brickside Grille has built a reputation through steady execution rather than hype.

What keeps me coming back is how comfortable everything feels. The menu doesn’t try to impress with buzzwords, the service feels genuine, and the atmosphere adapts to whoever walks in. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch, meeting friends for drinks, or sitting down for dinner, the experience stays grounded and dependable. That reliability, supported by good processes, knowledgeable staff, and a clear understanding of what diners want, is what makes Brickside Grille stand out in Exton’s crowded dining scene.

  • The food was amazing. Many flavors that were to die for. Crab cakes were top notch. Environment was nice and casual, not too classy. Prices were very reasonably priced and lots of options. Even kids meals were reasonable ($7 & $8). Wines and other drinks were well priced for the area, I was expecting more expensive drinks. But the cheaper drinks allowed for more freedom on the menu.

  • Our friends treated us to a seafood lunch here. My crabcake sandwich was all fresh grilled crabmeat (no filler) and very tasty. The sandwiches come with a lot of french fries. They were crisp and fresh. I had enough fries to take home for another meal. The restaurant ambiance is nice, and the service was good. Our friends shared that the restaurant opens its patio and hosts musical performances in the summer.

  • The food was delicious. Our party of 6 had the lobster bisque and little neck clams to start. No complaints with anything there Then we had crab legs, fish and chips, a burger, stuffed shrimp, and prime rib. Dinner was quiet with everyone eating. "Amazing", "delicious", and "fantastic" were some of the comments made. We then decided on dessert. Lemon blueberry cheesecake and key lime pie were very good. We also had the Bullet bourbon sticky bun with ice cream. That was the best I have ever had. I even tried slurping up the remaining Bullet bourbon sauce, Yum! A sweet ending to a wonderful dinner with family. I highly recommend this restaurant. Our only issue was service was a bit slow (clearing the table, refilling drinks, and the like) for the amount of staff they had walking through the dining room. We did call ahead and made reservations- highly recommend doing that.

  • Attended Mother's Day brunch. Made reservation about 2 months in advance. This is my big critique: The table we were sat at was in the way of the walking path for servers and guests. There was only about 2 feet between the back of my chair and the table behind me. I was bumped into at least 15 times while sitting at the table eating. I understand they were very busy for Mother's day but it was a large nuisance considering what we were paying for a party of t at the brunch. The buffet was restocked quickly and had a very large selection. The oysters were large and full. The blBloody Mary's base was a bit thin for my liking but they did not lack in spirits.
