Red Blend Crane, Disciples, 2019

Napa Valley. 'Disciples' is sourced mainly from old vineyards with unquestionable pedigrees, both historically and in terms of pure quality. The name, though, is a nod to the younger vineyards growing up in the shadow of those older vines who have already proven their worth. These disciples show a lot of promise, and we'll happily follow this producer into the future. This particular vintage comes from the Morisoli Vineyard in Rutherford and the Tofanelli Vineyard in Calistoga. It's a smooth, luscious blend of 49% Zinfandel, 19% Petite Sirah, 10% Charbono, 9% Grenache, 7% Syrah and 6% Merlot. Strawberry preserves and a garden of flowers lead towards an earthy, spicy palate with a long, dusty finish.

US$95.00

Red Blend Jonata, Todos Everyone, 2015

Santa Ynez Valley, CA. In the words of Jonata Winemaker Matt Dees, the rough recipe for the Todos blend is ~50% Syrah, ~30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and ~20% chaos. A blend of both red and white varietals from the Rhone, Bordeaux and Italy, this avant-garde blend manages to successfully express the expansiveness of the property from which it comes. The nose is massive and dark, containing aromas of bramble, mesquite and burning embers. The palate is laden with roasted black and blue fruits, glued together by tree sap and black pepper. A truly unique powerhouse of a wine.

US$125.00

Red Blend David Arthur, 2017

Napa valley, CA. The 2017 Proprietary Red Wine is based on 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, and the rest 2% Petit Verdot and a mix of Italian varieties that was brought up in 45% new French oak. It's a medium to full-bodied, balanced, elegant wine with pretty notes of red and black currants, tobacco, leafy herbs, and dried flower-like aromas and flavors. It's nicely balanced, has silky tannins, and a great finish. A small portion of this was harvested after the fires, but it doesn't show any signs of smoke taint.

US$135.00

Shiraz

Elderton, Ashmead Family, 2017, Barossa, Australia. The Ashmead family farms three shiraz parcels in Barossa, including their home vineyard in Nuriootpa, most of the vines dating to the 1940s. This 2017 is typical of the powerful shiraz they produce, a dense wine, thick in its up-front concentration, then lasting through an expansive finish, where detail in the tannins keeps yielding flavor, from floral notes to salty edges and tangy, tarry, cool freshness. It leaves a brisk impression, ready to take on slow-braised short ribs.

US$59.00

Tempranillo

Valle de Oron, 2022 Ribera Del Duero, Spain. Beautiful, deep cherry color. Typical Tempranillo varietal aromas of red and dark fruit (strawberries and blackberries).
