Cabernet Sauvignon Broken Earth, 2019
Paso Robles, CA. Fresh aromas of candied berry pick up dried earth and a hint of mushroom on the nose of this bottling. There's a tight tannic frame to the palate, where cassis and brown spice flavors work well together
Cabernet Sauvignon Whitehall Lane, Rassi, 2020
Sonoma Valley, CA. This Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic example of a perfectly balanced valley floor Cabernet with excellent fruit concentration. On the nose, this wine offers blackberry pie, dried Mission figs, baking spices, blackberry coulis and a hint of cigar box. The palate offers smooth and velvety tannins, chocolate-covered cherries, red currants, huckleberry pie, toasted walnuts, vanillin and hibiscus tea.
Cabernet Sauvignon Laurel Glen Counterpoint, 2018
Sonoma Mountain, CA. Beautiful fragrance of sweet boysenberry and dark raspberry fruit, mineral and smoke. Hints of espresso, charred oak and baking spices. Impressive on the finish, maintaining elegance and finesse amid firm mountain tannins. Fine, long finish. - Randall Watkins, Winemaker
Cabernet Sauvignon Heitz Cellar 2018
Napa Valley Notes of creme de cassis, licorice, cedar, and charcoal slowly emerge from the glass, giving way to hints of chocolate mint and pencil lead. The medium to full-bodied palate is vivacious and intense, with mint-laced black fruit layers and a fine-grained texture, finishing long and lifted.
Cabernet Sauvignon Cakebread Cellars, 2020
Napa Valley, CA. Boasting a complex bouquet of ripe blackberry and boysenberry, complemented by dark chocolate and oak. Fresh acidity and lush tannins balance the sumptuous dark fruit, leading to a linger, elegeant finish with a hint of minerality. Enjoy now with braised short rib or grilled portobello mushrooms.
Malbec Kaiken Ultra, 2020
Mendoza,Argentina. Kaiken Ultra 2020 Malbec is vegan-friendly and produced from organically-grown grapes sourced from high-altitude vineyards located in Uco Valley's Los Chacayes zone. Thus well-known beauty is plushy and concentrated on the palate and with the 2020 vintage being a warm, grapes were able to ripen completely and evenly tempered with cool nights in the vineyard. Produced from 100% Malbec, look for ripe dark berry, earthy florals, dark chocolate, smoky, spicy and mineral notes creamy on the palate. Warming at 14.5% abv, enjoy this juicy and bright Malbec with sirloin steaks from the grill.Malbec food pairings: roast lamb, veal dishes, grilled pork chops, cheese.
Malbec Mendel, Estate Grown, 2020
Mendoza,Argentina. The aromas of sweet French oak and espresso get more complex with every swirl of the glass, unveiling black plum, ripe raspberry, and violet aromas. The wine is full-bodied, dense, deep and chewy with flavors of black raspberry, plums, roasted herbs, and mint.
Merlot Castoro Cellars, 2018/20
Paso Robles, CA. Chopped herb and black-raspberry aromas converge for a fresh and energetic nose on this bottling. There's a light tannic edge to the palate, which then smooths out to reveal raspberry, cherry and sandalwood flavors
Merlot Oberon, 2020/2021
Napa Valley, CA. Enticing, spicy oak aromas and vivid red and black fruit flavors highlight this vibrant, well-structured wine. Moderate tannins and bright raspberry and black cherry flavors fill out the palate while the addition of 10% Syrah and 2% Zinfandel contributes some nice layering.
Pinot Noir Battle Creek, Unconditional, 2022
Oregon. Tight with tension and focus, this red serves up brooding raspberry and pomegranate flavors that are accented with notes of orange peel and dusky spices.
Pinot Noir Paul Hobbs Crossbarn, 2020
Sonoma Coast, CA. Plush, ripe cherry and strawberry aromas waft from the glass of this Pinot, while flavors of raspberry coulis, cola and orange skin dance on the palate before a zippy and grippy finish takes over. Drink this with grilled salmon and veggies.
Pinot Noir Elk Cove Vineyards, Estate, 2021
Williamette Valley, OR. Aromas of red plums, raspberries, oranges and pink peppercorns. Fresh, crunchy and delicious, with a medium body and silky, fine tannins. Crushed stone minerality at the end.
Red Blend Morgan, Cotes Du Crow's, 2019
Monterey, CA. This Rhone-style blend has a rich ruby color, highlighted by purple edges. Raspberry jam and sweet herbs jump out of the glass. The wine is medium-full bodied with soft tannins, offering flavors of strawberry hard candy and fresh plum.
Red Blend Crane, Disciples, 2019
Napa Valley. 'Disciples' is sourced mainly from old vineyards with unquestionable pedigrees, both historically and in terms of pure quality. The name, though, is a nod to the younger vineyards growing up in the shadow of those older vines who have already proven their worth. These disciples show a lot of promise, and we'll happily follow this producer into the future. This particular vintage comes from the Morisoli Vineyard in Rutherford and the Tofanelli Vineyard in Calistoga. It's a smooth, luscious blend of 49% Zinfandel, 19% Petite Sirah, 10% Charbono, 9% Grenache, 7% Syrah and 6% Merlot. Strawberry preserves and a garden of flowers lead towards an earthy, spicy palate with a long, dusty finish.
Red Blend Jonata, Todos Everyone, 2015
Santa Ynez Valley, CA. In the words of Jonata Winemaker Matt Dees, the rough recipe for the Todos blend is ~50% Syrah, ~30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and ~20% chaos. A blend of both red and white varietals from the Rhone, Bordeaux and Italy, this avant-garde blend manages to successfully express the expansiveness of the property from which it comes. The nose is massive and dark, containing aromas of bramble, mesquite and burning embers. The palate is laden with roasted black and blue fruits, glued together by tree sap and black pepper. A truly unique powerhouse of a wine.
Red Blend David Arthur, 2017
Napa valley, CA. The 2017 Proprietary Red Wine is based on 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, and the rest 2% Petit Verdot and a mix of Italian varieties that was brought up in 45% new French oak. It's a medium to full-bodied, balanced, elegant wine with pretty notes of red and black currants, tobacco, leafy herbs, and dried flower-like aromas and flavors. It's nicely balanced, has silky tannins, and a great finish. A small portion of this was harvested after the fires, but it doesn't show any signs of smoke taint.
Shiraz
Elderton, Ashmead Family, 2017, Barossa, Australia. The Ashmead family farms three shiraz parcels in Barossa, including their home vineyard in Nuriootpa, most of the vines dating to the 1940s. This 2017 is typical of the powerful shiraz they produce, a dense wine, thick in its up-front concentration, then lasting through an expansive finish, where detail in the tannins keeps yielding flavor, from floral notes to salty edges and tangy, tarry, cool freshness. It leaves a brisk impression, ready to take on slow-braised short ribs.
Tempranillo
Valle de Oron, 2022 Ribera Del Duero, Spain. Beautiful, deep cherry color. Typical Tempranillo varietal aromas of red and dark fruit (strawberries and blackberries). Outstanding, powerful flavors of black licorice. Round texture, with tannins that give it structure and strength. A big, silky wine with a long finish.
Zinfandel
Seghesio Family Vineyards, Old Vine 2018, Sonoma County, CA. With a bouquet of cedar, spice, and sun-ripened blackberries, our Sonoma Zinfandel makes a strong first impression. Bold and richly textured on the palate with an intensity and purity of fruit reflected in notes of wild blueberries, plum, and black currants. A light dusting of tannins provides structure and a long finish that is boueyed by fresh juicy acidity.
